I’m asking for a full refund of RM145.38, as the owner had agreed. We did not stay overnight. We checked out on the same day, and I can provide evidence of that, including messages with the owner, checkout communications, and screenshots showing the cancellation and checkout timeline. I booked the accommodation and canceled on the same day, after contacting the owner directly about a refund. The owner told me I would receive a full refund, so I went ahead with the cancellation. Later, the owner told Booking.com customer service that we had stayed one night before checking out. Based on that, the platform said a full refund couldn’t be processed. That account is incorrect. I hope the platform reviews the evidence and resolves this fairly.

The owner’s behavior was horrendous. There were stains all over the bed, the water pressure was extremely low, and worst of all, bed bugs were everywhere. My bag may have been infested, and I’m worried I’ll bring them home. The place looked nice in the photos, but it was unhygienic, dirty, and not maintained. The owner just rents it out and claims guests stayed at the hotel to get apps to refund only part of the booking price. It feels like a money scam. ❌❌❌❌👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
The room can fit up to four people, and the modern design is a plus. It’s in a strategic spot, and parking is easy to find, with payment through Flexi Parking during office hours. The toilet cleanliness was about 6/10, and it got somewhat noisy around midnight, though that was acceptable. I’d recommend it: affordable and worth the price.
For a three-star hotel, it was very good for the price. I didn’t expect too much, and it was a great stay for what it cost. I’d really suggest management check the road leading to the hotel, though. It smells bad and isn’t comfortable for customers.
The place has a charming heritage style and a roomy interior with a mezzanine. It’s comfortable for one or two people, but four would feel cramped. You can walk about five minutes to the market, eateries, and Pulau Titus activity area, or around 15 minutes to Gurney Drive. Penang Road and Macalister Road are only a 5-10 minute drive, and the city center is close too. It’s decent value if you aren’t expecting 4-5 star facilities. The charm of the building makes up for some service issues, though the operator is rarely around even during the day. WhatsApp replies can be hit-or-miss, but check-in is assured. The AC could be colder, and there are no windows for natural light. During operating hours, no staff were at the counter and hosting was unresponsive. Daytime parking can be a challenge, though spaces are still available.
