Clean and in the heart of George Town. Check-in is self-service, with no receptionist, so you need to call the owner to get inside. The Wi-Fi details and contact number are posted at the front door, and you can reach them through WhatsApp.

The renovation seems carefully thought through, and the hotel was clean, new, comfortable, and easy to use. I would have liked stronger water flow from the shower, but it was adequate. Parking is the big drawback: there’s none at the hotel, so it’s not suitable if you’re driving, and I wish the website made that clear. The underground public lot costs RM2 per hour on weekdays, which makes staying here pointless since other places offer parking at similar prices. I was lucky to be there on the weekend, when it’s RM2 per entry, so that worked out fine.

The management clearly care about their work and take pride in it. The place was clean and well maintained, and the service felt heartfelt. My single occupancy room had what I needed for a short holiday. It’s right in the heart of town, with shopping malls, places to eat, and attractions within walking distance.

The Craftisan Room was roomy for four, with two queen beds, a sofa bed, and a bathroom. I was in town for an appointment at Adventist Hospital, about a 15-minute walk away. There are plenty of places nearby, including mini markets, Starbucks, a wet market, Domino's Pizza, nasi kandar restaurants, and Seven Eleven. Getting in takes a bit of figuring out: you need a passcode, then follow the instructions after taking the lift to the second floor and collect your key from a locker. I don't think the room is cleaned every day, though you might be able to ask. The place itself was very clean, and the admin was helpful and quick to respond. The price was okay.
