Muntri Maison

We lost a lot of time dealing with this, and it completely spoiled the start of our trip. Staff first agreed to refund us, then later refused. I’d urge future guests to be cautious and not trust the listing photos alone. Our room looked nothing like the pictures. The hotel is very old and run down, with fake display windows that don’t open to fresh air, cracked walls, peeling paint and loose electrical outlets that concerned us for safety. Cleanliness was far below an acceptable standard. The kettle still had water from the previous guest, stickers had been left in the bathtub, and the room had a strong smell. The sheets and pillowcases had visible yellow stains and water marks. Towels and floor mats were grey, worn out and almost see-through.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I liked this hotel in Malaysia enough to do one. The new staff made me feel at home, and everyone was so welcoming from the moment I arrived. Our room was amazing, and it was lovely sharing the stay with my friend. The location also worked perfectly, with popular attractions easy to reach. The place was comfortable and clean. Thanks, we hope to stay here again soon.

The room design was fine, but the cleanliness was disgusting. When we arrived at the end of November, there was a foul smell as soon as we walked in. We spotted several bed bugs on the bed and even in the toilet. I came away with marks and pus over my body, and had to go to hospital because it was so painful and itchy. Please do your research before booking. Check XHS, FB and Google reviews. I’d strongly warn people against booking this place.

The rooms are spacious, but they aren’t well maintained. They don’t take credit cards for the deposit, so be aware of that. They also don’t keep bags in a room, they just ask you to leave them behind the counter.
