Stallions Suites Penang

The restaurant beside the hotel is good and worth trying. During my 1 week stay, the TV wouldn’t work because the remote wasn’t working. On my last night I wanted to use the pool, but reception said it might not be clean and there could be a skin infection. They should put up a “pool close” sign, because the sign there said “open 8am - 8pm.” When I tried to check out, there was nobody at reception. IM LEAVING BRO !

I stayed on 20-21/12/2025 in room 207 (Superior Triple Room). The room was spacious and clean, and the Chinese guys at reception were polite, helpful, and the best. Maybe they could put an air freshener in the room. The toilets had amenities including toothbrush,Shampoo,Shower gel, and there were 2 towels. Muslim guests needn’t worry, there’s a Kiblat arrow for prayers. A welcome drink can be redeem, and there’s a restaurant for Muslim,beside the pool. The downside of room 207 is that it’s beside the main road, so at night you sometimes hear an ambulance, cars, or heavy sound motorcycle(rempit), but it’s not to loud.

The room was mostly clean, with hair shampoo, body shampoo, a toothbrush, and 2 towels supplied. The front desk staff were polite and helpful, and free parking is available. The location is quite good, though you’ll need transport to get around. Indian Palace Restaurant is 15 minutes away and worth a visit for authentic Indian dishes. There was a smoke smell in the corridor and room, especially strong in the bathroom. At times it felt more like a condominium homestay service than a proper hotel.

The hotel’s convenient location and pool in good condition were positives, and for the price the stay seemed reasonable with the basic facilities covered. The staff were courteous, though the service was nothing special. Traffic noise was noticeable, especially at busy times, and the internet WiFi kept interrupting. I booked at short notice because of a last-minute work commitment in Penang. I usually book ahead when traveling with family and look for a pool, parking, and connecting or family rooms, but most 3 to 4-star hotels were full. I requested a connecting room, then learned at check-in that the adjacent room was reserved for the owner’s use. It looked unoccupied during our stay, which was disappointing. The building seems old despite its fresh exterior paint, and the interior furniture and fixtures looked like they dated from the 1990s. Our view was limited to a hillside and an external air-conditioning unit area, made unsightly by pigeons and their droppings. That affected the cleanliness and comfort of the stay.
