I spent one night here and found the stay pleasant and comfortable. The reception staff were friendly and accommodating, and I appreciated the hospitality. It’s a non-smoking hotel, which is a real plus for me. The room was comfortable and had most of the amenities I needed.

The bathrooms were a highlight, roomy and with a separate shower. Our room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. Staff were also very helpful about holding our bags when we arrived too early to check in. A great place to stay, highly recommended.

We’re from Australia and stayed five nights in January 2026. Mr Ho was pleasant and helpful when we first arrived. Later, Sheila from Housekeeping sorted out our room change, and Prasad and Devi at reception went out of their way to help us. We were struggling to book bus tickets to Melacca, and Devi helped us get it done. There’s plenty to do in Ipoh, despite what people say, and good places to eat nearby. The shower had good hot water, too. If we come back to Ipoh, we’ll stay here again. Max & Jen

The location is right in town, within walking distance of the chicken rice shop and night market. The staff were very friendly, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. I could hear sounds from outside the room, though.

The decor feels a little old-fashioned, but the room at Eastern Hotel in Ipoh was clean, cozy, and comfortable. I had a pleasant stay, and it’s a good place to stay in Ipoh.
