The pool was unusable during my February 2026 stay, under construction and full of algae. The view was also disappointing, blocked by a wall, with stairs and a cleaning bucket in sight. The parking ramp felt far too steep to drive up, and the tag wouldn’t let us exit, so we had to wait for a guard. Getting in was a hassle: we had to collect the lobby key in one place and the property keys somewhere else, with unclear directions. It was a long walk, especially hard on my aging parents. The property didn’t match the website photos, either. Inside, the linen was very poor quality, the hangers were cheap plastic, a spare bedframe was stored in the master bedroom cupboard, and there was a wire hanging inside the wardrobe. The bathroom taps had soap stains. There was only one toilet paper roll in each bathroom, so we had to buy more. We were eight adults staying for two nights. No bath mats were provided, leaving wet floors after showers, which felt dangerous for my aging parents. After all that, I expected a discount on what I paid. Management offered RM108 back as a rebate for a future visit. Why would I go back?

There are plenty of shops and restaurants right downstairs, so picking up food or daily essentials was easy. The private check-in also went smoothly and felt comfortable. The room was clean, in good shape, and a nice place to unwind after a long day. I’d recommend staying here for the convenience, privacy, and comfort.

The building is kept clean, secure, and well maintained, and there are some good places to eat plus a very good expat supermarket on the ground floor. The location is reasonably convenient. Some flats are decent, but others are in terrible shape, so be careful about choosing a host or landlord. The units vary a lot. Short stays can be enjoyable, though longer stays can get noisy from nonstop activity and the cinema’s repeated doom soundtrack, which plays for many hours a day. The building can also get quite hot, and some units have mould or sewerage smells.

The unit had several problems: the shower drain was clogged, the sofa was dirty, and the living room air conditioner didn’t work. Towels were hanging on the balcony, so I couldn’t tell whether they were clean. The walk-in closet was being used to store mattresses. We got only one room key and one lift access card, which is inconvenient for a group. Check-in was frustrating from the start. I messaged the number listed on Agoda several times with no reply, then called and learned it didn’t belong to the property manager. The person answering said they had already received calls about the property before mine. Agoda gave me the correct number after I contacted them. The manager then required a RM200 security deposit before telling me to collect the keys at Jazz Suite instead of the usual mailbox at Straits Quay. The manager was rude about my texts and insisted I pick up the key at Jazz Suite. He said he’d return the RM200 deposit on checkout day between 3pm - 5pm. I checked out at 10am, but by 7.20pm the money still hadn’t arrived. I followed up the next morning, and he said he would check. The deposit was refunded only after that.
