DG One Stop Budget Hotel

We had a clean, comfortable room for two nights and felt it was worth the affordable price. The hotel is central, with many tourist spots nearby. There’s no lift, just stairs, but I didn’t mind the climb and saw it as exercise before exploring Ipoh. We used the machine to check in, paid a 3Myr deposit, and collected the key ourselves. It took a few minutes to get the key card, then everything went smoothly. There were brochures with places to visit and Wi-Fi information. When we asked over WhatsApp for terminals, staff brought them right to our room. After checkout, we could leave our bags at reception while exploring Ipoh in the morning. I’d recommend staying here when visiting Ipoh.

The room was clean, the TV worked well enough, and there was free water in the lobby. Staff helped us with self check-in; the key card took a few minutes, then the rest was smooth. There’s no lift, which is to be expected for this kind of hotel. It’s next to a mosque, so it can get noisy sometimes.

Concubine Lane and Little India are both within walking distance, and the hotel’s central location makes it good value. The beds were comfortable and reasonably clean. The bathroom facilities were all okay, including the shower, bidet, sink and heater, though the water pressure was a bit weak. The Android box and TV worked well, and the WiFi was strong. Plenty for a budget stay, without anything fancy.

There was standing water along the third-floor corridor because, the counter staff said, the roof was leaking. I asked them to mop it, and my child fell twice. I told them, but all I got was “OK,” with no apology. In the morning it was still the same. She said it had already been mopped, but the walls carry sound so clearly that I’m sure I’d have heard it. The sink leaked too, and my room got wet. The bathroom door was very inappropriate. If ******, you can hear it clearly. I was really unhappy with the service and wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
