GRAYHAUS SOHO Ipoh

The self-service breakfast was fun, making our own half-boiled egg and bread. We also loved the rooftop hangout spot. The room was alright for the price, and we had a nice stay.

We were only in the room, one with a nice terrace, for ten minutes when we saw a bed bug crawling on a pillow. My husband caught it and brought it to reception in a trash bin, and they put it in a plastic bag as evidence. When we returned for our things, there was another bed bug crawling on the bed. We hadn't even touched the bed before finding the first one, so we really didn't appreciate them trying to blame us. At first they told us to find another room somewhere else, at 23:30. Then they said they'd move us to another room, took that back, and said they'd spray ours so we could stay as planned. No chance. Eventually they booked us a room in a hotel across the street, so at least they did something.

Good value. The rooms are small, and the bed is okay. The pillows are very thin, so not very good, but the shower gets hot.

The room was enough for two, and the bathroom was surprisingly spacious. I stayed in room 2B, which had a distinct smell I couldn't identify, and the soundproofing could be better. Even so, I had a positive stay and would consider coming back. Grayhaus Soho Ipoh is excellently located, with many tourist spots just a short walk away, making the city easy to explore. I especially liked the rooftop space and well-equipped pantry. The simple breakfast was complimentary, and my girl was delighted by the soft-boiled egg and toast in the morning.
