There’s a popular dim sum restaurant and bean curd place within walking distance, plus good nasi kandar about a hundred metres away. Opposite, there’s a coffee shop selling coffee, toast, and Hakka mee, and a small cafe to the side with simple Korean food. The hotel itself is no fuss: clean, simple, minimalist rooms for washing up and resting. The staff are courteous and usually quick to help, and I noticed they changed the bedsheets every day. I did feel the price was high for what you get.

Affordable, right in the heart of Ipoh, and the service was really nice. I stayed here myself and had a smooth, comfortable time. It’s one of those places that leaves you with a great memory and makes you want to return. Honestly, I’d choose this hotel again.

We were still stuck waiting in the lobby after 6pm, even though the rooms were supposed to be ready by 4pm. We had elderly family members, babies, and children with us, which made the wait especially hard. We were told there weren’t enough cleaners to get the rooms ready. The hotel didn’t deliver what its website promised, and I won’t book here again.

There’s no refrigerator, and the place itself is pretty basic. A mamak is within walking distance, but we don’t like eating at mamak restaurants, so we drove around looking for another halal breakfast option. That was a bit difficult, since most of the nearby places to eat were non-halal.

Good-sized room with a large bed, and the price was reasonable. There’s enough parking, too, and the area is convenient.
