The only thing I liked was being near Mydin. The room conditions were awful, and I’d urge people not to trust the ratings blindly. Our first room was very dim because one light didn’t work, and there was a strong, unpleasant smell. We asked to switch without checking further, but the next room was worse: water leaked from the ceiling and tap, the wall was peeling, and dust was visible all over the air conditioner. The whole room smelled like mold, and the door lock didn’t line up with its hole, so it was useless. When we complained, the receptionist said with confidence that every room was “normal.” The room had health and safety concerns, and your body deserves a cleaner place to rest, even if Mydin is close by. A heads-up: online platform bookings aren’t refundable. We paid for the lesson learned.

There’s no elevator, which made going up and down with luggage difficult for the elderly. I booked through the Agoda app and was disappointed to be given a low-grade room. The walls and floors were dirty, and I felt itchy trying to sleep. The pillowcases and bed didn’t seem clean enough. I expected the staff to give me a clean room after booking through the app.

The location was the only good part. The cleanliness was terrible: cobwebs and dust, hair on the bed, and what looked like mold on the bathroom floor. The whole bathroom, including the bidet, seemed like it hadn’t been scrubbed. I’ve stayed in a Penang budget hotel for about the same price, and its bathroom wasn’t nearly this disgusting. The air conditioner was musty too.

The toilet was in acceptable shape, and actually felt cleaner than the room. Everything else was very dirty and dusty, with spider webs, floor stains, moldy walls, and a stale smell. Housekeeping did a lousy job. The room gets 0/5 stars, and the two stars are for the toilet. Even at a cheap price, it wasn’t worth staying here. Never coming back, and I don’t recommend it.

It’s close to Mydin Mall, which is handy if you need to buy something. The room is not very big, but okay for two or three people. There’s Astro, or maybe Njoy, I’m not sure, though the TV picture resolution is very low. The shower heater worked well.
