Impiana Hotel Ipoh

I felt relaxed and safe, and each room was big. The pool was clean and safe, and my kids loved it. Breakfast was okay, like at other hotels. It was worth the money.

The staff were warm and helpful, and checking in was easy. The place is reasonably clean and cared for, but the rooms look dated and need maintenance and upgrades. It’s an acceptable hotel, though the condition should be brought up to its four-star rating.

The morning and lunch buffets had a satisfying range of food. My room itself was dusty, though, and the bathtub had a stain. Only one of the three lifts was working properly during my stay, so that needs attention. I came for an overnight team-building event and slept comfortably; it was quiet at night despite the hotel being next to a road. The room also had a lot of useful touches, from an iron and board, hair dryer, laundry bag, sewing kit and safe to plenty of towels and a premium toiletries set. The hair and body shampoo had a distinctive, pleasant scent unlike the usual kind found in other hotels. I also appreciated the fire safety blanket. Management could consider putting one or two on each floor.

I asked to switch rooms, but the reception didn’t follow up, so I had to call myself. It took an hour to move us, and the new room was even worse. They had put us on a floor where renovation was underway, and the noise started at 8am and could clearly be heard in the room. The room was dim, and there was very little sound insulation. I could hear the road, the swimming pools, and people talking in the corridor. The toilet door was stained and very dirty, and the room was in poor condition overall, including its cleanliness and lighting. An old hotel shouldn’t be dirty at the price they charge. A really bad experience at this so-called four-star hotel. I won’t come back.
