The breakfast had a good range: toasted bread with kaya, butter and strawberry jam, Nasi Lemak, spaghetti and fried noodles. Drinks included white and black coffee, teh tarik and orange juice. I can’t call the hotel bad for a budget place, but the rooms were a bit dirty and the walls were cracked. I also hope they replace the soap, since it was much too watery.

The room, bathroom and toilet were clean and nice. It felt a little tight for three people, but we were still comfortable. There are free parking spaces, and the hotel also has underground parking if you contact the staff.

The food was good, especially the chicken nuggets, and I liked the room and service too. The staff offered us several rooms so we could pick one, which I really appreciated. There’s a noisy street nearby, though how much you notice depends on where your window faces.

I spent five nights at 1 Avenue, Petaling Jaya and had a satisfying stay from beginning to end. The staff were friendly, attentive and accommodating, and breakfast was included, which made it good value compared with similar places nearby. My room was spotless and well cared for, with a lovely view. For the price, the amenities were impressive: a TV with lots of channels, reliable Wi-Fi and laundry on-site. The location was convenient too, within walking distance of a mosque, shops and a clinic, and the gated parking felt secure. It was comfortable and affordable, and worked well for a longer visit. I’d recommend it to travelers looking for a clean, well-equipped place in Petaling Jaya.
