Free parking behind the hotel and a welcome drink were nice extras. The entrance decor set a great mood, and that distinctive look continued into the room. The price felt right, too. BFF restaurant next door is worth trying, and its local desserts had impressive quality for such an unbelievable price.

The suite turned out to be a great choice, even with the extra charge. We’d first booked a standard room, but found it too small for us when we arrived. It was very clean and nicely designed, though. Staff suggested the larger suite, and we were really pleased with it. I’ve included photos of both rooms to compare.

We stayed two nights. There’s private outdoor parking just behind the hotel, plus a hot and cold water dispenser on the ground floor, which I appreciated. The heater, shower, and tap all worked well, and bathroom slippers were provided. On the first night we found two small cockroaches in the bathroom. I told the front desk, and I believe they did pest control because we didn’t see any the next night.

I could sometimes hear voices and other sounds from the neighboring rooms, especially by the bathroom door. The iron and ironing board are shared in the hallway, too. Even so, the room was cozy and comfortable, and I’d happily stay again. The staff were polite and welcoming. I loved the eclectic look, with dark furniture, dim lighting, and lots of character. The queen bed was comfortable, and the room was compact but cleverly laid out, with a sofa, wardrobe and hangers, shoe rack, minibar, and proper coffee cups and glasses. The black-and-white bathroom had a wide mirror and a small two-sided magnifying mirror. There were enough amenities for a short stay, and there’s a gym. Private parking is free but limited, and it’s first-come, first-served. Street parking in front costs money during the day and is free after 6pm.
