i-Hotel @ Johor Bahru

The shower stopped getting any water the next day. In the toilet there were no towels, so we had to ask the receptionist, who gave us towels with holes in them. Our room wasn't tidy, the sheets were stained, and the bed's headboard kept dropping. I know it's a budget hotel, but they should at least try to give customers decent service.

At ground level, people talking loudly can make it noisy. Still, the room was clean and had the basics, and the male receptionist was friendly. The rate was only RM40 plus for one night. It was priced for two, though there was one queen bed and one single, so three could fit. I'd recommend it for a night's stay.

The Wi-Fi was very good, which helped since mobile coverage downstairs was poor and I couldn't get a full signal. The ground-floor hallway also needs better lighting. Cleanliness could be improved too; I found a clump of hair on the floor. The two garbage bins outside the lobby look bad, and the yellow bulbs are harsh on the eyes, so those should be changed to white.

The noise was the worst part. The walls don't block much, so every motorcycle going past could be heard. The whole hotel felt dirty, especially the dim hallways, and our room had no trashcan, toilet paper, or water bottles. The A/C wasn't working well, and the room door was already open when we arrived. In the morning, an employee wouldn't return our security deposit because nobody had given us a receipt the day before.
