The bed was pretty comfortable, and check-in and checkout were quick. There’s an elevator, plus parking right outside, though spaces are limited. The bathroom was the weak point: I’d give its cleanliness 3/10. Soap and shampoo were provided, but the water pressure was poor, the faucet beside the toilet had no water, and the shower head is mounted too low to adjust.

We paid RM260/- as walk-in customers during peak season, and the place was a disaster. There was a dead lizard on the toilet bowl, the sheets were dirty, and neither the television nor the hot water flask worked. The generator kept switching on all night. We could hear the TV next door and every time someone shut a door, it echoed. We asked for a 50% refund and they refused. I’d rate this place -10.

I was struggling to find somewhere to stay, while nearby hotels and dorms kept giving me the runaround. The receptionist, who also handled attendant duties, was surprisingly helpful and accommodating. I stayed three nights last week, and the service was better than at other places nearby of similar quality. They also have Coway hot and filtered water. I’d stay here again. One possible improvement: Sunbirds could offer a lower weekday rate for stays of at least three nights without daily housekeeping. Guests who are environmentally conscious may not want their towels and sheets changed every day.

It’s in a handy spot, close to Pasar Malam Golden Hill and Taman Sedia, and away from the traffic jam. There’s a Coway water filter too. The downsides were stained linen, a pillow that was too thin and uncomfortable, and slightly low shower pressure.
