Redpine Boutique Hotel

I’ve stayed here a few times, and the service has been frustrating from the start. Staff didn’t seem to follow up on customer requests sent through Agoda or email. On a visit about one or two months before my latest stay, we found ants and cockroach nymphs in Room 111. I asked to move and the request was granted. When I checked in on 8 Sept 2025, a Chinese male staff member, who I assumed was the manager, spoke to my wife about that earlier visit. He sarcastically asked whether we’d found “one ant” and wanted a room change, saying staff had checked and found none. I told him we wouldn’t have asked to move over just one ant, especially since there were cockroaches too. He went quiet and looked unhappy. During our stay in Room 212, the air conditioner suddenly leaked and soaked the carpet. My wife went down to request another room, and he gave us one. But then he immediately sent a Malay staff member who didn’t understand English to knock on our door and demand the key card. We needed time to pack. The staff member kept speaking Malay, which we couldn’t understand. My wife asked why someone had been sent to watch us pack and insist on getting the card back right away. The manager just said, “He does not know,” in a way that felt pretentious. He didn’t apologize for the leaking air conditioner or the inconvenience, and he yelled at my wife. This is unacceptable service and etiquette from a hotel manager. Management needs to look into the lousy, horrible customer service from this Chinese male receptionist.

The bed was soft, and the room size was okay, though there was a gap between the wall and the bed. The bathroom was also a decent size, with good shower pressure and free toiletries. There’s a lift, standard free TV channels, and a hot hair dryer.

I booked the wrong thing and called several times but got no answer. I emailed to get in touch and heard nothing back. In the end they marked me as a no-show and charged the full amount. Well done.

The room was decent for the price, but getting into the hotel was a mess. I arrived around 1 am, and although Agoda listed a 24-hour front desk, the door was locked and the receptionist was asleep. I called the hotel, knocked hard with another walk-in guest, and still couldn’t wake him. Another customer tried calling again, and he finally got up. I was stuck outside for a little over 30 minutes. The receptionist didn’t apologize or say anything.
