It felt like a backpacker exchange stay where nothing had been cleaned or sorted out. The toilet didn't work and it was dirty everywhere. Worst of all, my capsule light was broken and it wouldn't lock, so my belongings were at risk while I was travelling.

For somewhere to crash on a low budget, this was the cheapest place I could find with a vacancy that night. If cleanliness doesn't matter to you, you might be fine. I didn't expect much, but the dirty, strange-smelling capsule still disappointed me. There were old, unwiped stains at both the head and foot, and two used Q-tips stuck under the capsule door. Its charging station didn't work, so my phone couldn't charge overnight. The hostel isn't disabled-friendly: you have to climb a long flight of stairs to reach it. There's no staff at night, and of the two bathrooms, one doesn't have a proper toilet and showerhead.

The room was amazing and beautiful, but finding the place was hard. I walked to the wrong spot seven times because the customized stainless steel backlit sign wasn't visible; it was tiny in the stairwell. The bed below was filthy, with ants inside that bit my body and head. The bed also felt sweaty. I vomited and couldn't bear to look at the toilet. It smelled of fish, and the bowl had orange and red-looking stains from poop and pee. Customers don't flush or clean the toilet. The tables were dirty with bottles and food, and ants bit my leg there too. Customers don't wipe the tables themselves. Your staff haven't worked in pelangi capsule hostel. I hope your business has safety measures and 24-hour CCTV. I contacted you, thank you!

Guests were kind, and the staff made us feel welcome. The hostel is in a lively area with plenty of places to eat, and having a launderette on the ground floor was handy. The price is reasonable, and you get what you pay for. A good place to catch your breath.

The location is great, but the capsule room felt run-down and wasn't very clean. There were no safe boxes, just two toilets and one shower room, and those were dirty too. No slippers for going into the toilet, and it was noisy at night. The staff weren't friendly either.
