Aliya Hotel Klang

The room was spacious, though a little dusty and very dim. The shower was the main problem: the mixer didn't work, so the water was either frighteningly hot, scalding hot, or ice cold, with nothing in between. There were bath towels but no face towels, and the air conditioning only let me change the fan speed, not the temperature. You get what you pay for, hint hint, it’s inexpensive. Try it at your own risk. Maybe your room will be lucky.

I picked this hotel for its location near the factories in Klang, but the stay was awful. I booked three rooms, two for two nights and one for one night. One room hadn't been cleaned, with a messy bed and towels on the floor. They moved us, but the blanket in the replacement room was just folded neatly, while there was hair on the bed and a strong perfume smell. At night, noise from the nearby club and ongoing construction made it hard to sleep. The only person at reception was a young man, who I assumed was a student. He didn't know anything about the cleaning service, and I didn't want to upset him by pressing the issue. The poor service and management left me embarrassed in front of my client. This was the worst hotel I've stayed at, and I wouldn't recommend it.

The Superior King Room had a king size bed and decent room size, about what you'd expect from a typical 2-3 star hotel. Housekeeping needs work, though. There was no towel or toilet floor mat, the shower water wasn't hot enough, and it didn't drain properly.

I booked one night through Hotel.com and got a confirmation email, but when I arrived the hotel said they had no booking for me. I ended up walking in and paying RM100 for a room, cash only. At least breakfast wasn't included in the price. The room was dusty and felt like it had been abandoned for years. A giant cockroach was waiting on the pillow, ready to share the bed with us. The door opened without a card, only two channels worked on the 38" TV, and it took about two hours for the air conditioning to show any sign of working.
