OYO 90232 Mountain View Guest House

Room 1 was comfortable and had a lovely view of Mount Kinabalu. There’s a hot and cold water dispenser, and the owner was friendly and accommodating. The air conditioner had a minor issue; I mentioned it to the owner and she acknowledged it. Everything else was great. Would recommend 💯

The owner was a big help when our rental car broke down. She suggested we contact the rental company, then arranged a driver to pick us up for the kawakawa river cruise. We bought the package through her. We slept well in the clean room, with great hot water and water pressure. The WiFi was fast, and the AC worked well. There was shampoo and soup, though we preferred our own, plus an electric kettle for boiling water. Breakfast isn’t included, but there’s a noodle and rice place a one-minute walk away, and the breakfast was wonderful. There were lots of mosquitoes. We told the owner, and she turned on the fan and lit incense to make it more bearable. We had a great experience overall.

The owner was very kind and supportive, even helping us arrange hiking trips and transportation. Some rooms have a window looking toward Mount Kinabalu. The rooms are clean, nice, and affordable, and the guesthouse is an easy walk from Kota Belud center. Free hot and cold drinking water is available, along with a shared fridge.

Our room was clean, and towels were provided. The decor felt a little dated, but it was good value for the money. The location is handy too, within walking distance of town. The host was so friendly and helpful with recommendations, and even helped us when we got lost trying to do a hike. We would have struggled without such a great host.
