Floral Hotel

I used to stay at this hotel regularly for work, even after reading reviews about the receptionist being rude. I've stayed in many hotels around Malaysia, and I didn't find this receptionist customer-friendly. Five months later, while I was checking in, a female receptionist with a chubby build and dark skin brought up the negative Google review I'd left about my bad experience. She spoke sarcastically and gave me a mocking look. I asked whether her service and expression deserved five stars, and she couldn't answer. She didn't apologize, and I was very disappointed. That was the end of my regular stays. I won't come back or recommend the hotel to colleagues or anyone else. Management should take guest experience seriously if they want the business to do well, and send staff for communication skills training, even at a budget hotel.

The front desk staff were the only acceptable part of my stay. The room itself was run-down and dirty, the table hadn't been cleaned, and the toilet smelled awful. Getting to it was a hassle too: the entrance was far from the room, and reaching any room meant using two elevators. The online images made the place look different, and the hygiene was poor. This was the worst hotel I've stayed in, and the internet presentation felt fake and deceptive.

After four days here, I'm sure this was my last stay. The hotel was close to my husband's workplace, so I didn't have much choice. They didn't clean every day, only on the third day, and took away the bedsheet used as a blanket cover. Staff said removing one item was their cleaning policy, and we'd need to pay another RM5 to get it back. I wouldn't have minded paying, but the staff shouted at me. I booked through Agoda with a coupon, and they charged the rate from my original booking. Paying RM51 didn't give them a reason to be rude or harsh. When I asked to speak to the boss, a staff member named Ikmal told me to come downstairs if I wanted to meet him, in a tone that sounded like he wanted a fight. I complained to the owner, but nothing was done about the staff. Instead, they told me not to extend my stay. The service was horrible. Management should hire people with good customer service and basic manners. We work and pay for the service, without expecting to be treated like royalty.

I checked in late, but the receptionist quickly found my booked room. It had two single beds, a TV, air conditioning, a water heater, two mugs, and a jug. The room was cozy and had enough space to pray. There's a dispenser with hot and cold water by the stairs, and a surau for one person. The hotel is near the main road, with plenty of public parking.
