Grand Riverview Hotel

I arrived as a walk-in guest at 1 AM, and a bellboy was still available to help carry our luggage to the room. The service was excellent. The property and rooms show their age, and there were a few minor cleanliness issues, but I think the stay is good value. If you care most about service and price rather than decor, it’s a solid choice. If you want a modern or spotless room, you may want to look elsewhere.

Breakfast was decent, and the room itself was okay and clean. The furniture and utilities are dated, but still work well. The plumbing should be checked, since the pipes sometimes give off a foul smell when water flows through them.

The room was spacious and had a great river view. It’s an older-style hotel, but well maintained, with a large lobby and friendly staff. Breakfast was good, though the coffee and tea came premixed with too much sugar. There wasn’t an unsweetened option unless you asked or said you’d see at reception. Otherwise, a good stay.

We checked in, then checked out a few hours later after finding bed bugs, both dead and alive. The room was mouldy and musty, and the view from it was as shown in the photo. Never again. Please avoid this dump. The lobby is just a facade; the actual state of the “hotel” is deplorable.
