I ended up here in an emergency, and what a waste. The room smelled like a clogged drain, so the toilets need fixing. Water pressure in the boys' room was frustratingly slow up on the second floor. The place is right across from Hospital USM, and management could make much better use of that location. If they spent on proper cleaning supplies, including heavy-duty detergent, instead of relying on aerosol, and put some color on the walls, it might look and smell better. Sometimes it pays to believe what you read, despite the huge sign outside. The boys gave me an “We told you so.” I've stayed in classy four-star hotels, and this place spoils even a short visit to Kubang Kerian.

There’s no lift, which makes the place inconvenient for older guests. The bathroom wasn’t very clean either, and I spotted a cockroach behind the bowl while showering. The towels looked yellowish, and I don’t think they were cleaned properly. We reported the slow air conditioner, and staff said it had been fixed, but nothing changed. We slept with the fan on too and no blanket.

We checked out without even showering because there was no water or towels, and the toilet bowls had yellow stains. The staff weren’t truthful. I’ve never seen a three-star hotel this bad. Stay away from this dump.

The bad experience started before check-in. Our booking was cancelled with an email notice only, no phone call. When we called to ask why, the front office officer simply said, “THIS IS NOT MY BUSINESS.” We asked for the manager or supervisor’s number, but neither was available. The front office manager said they’d call back and never did. Very disappointing front office service.

There’s a bed, TV and toilet, and the room is small but cozy enough. It’s on the first floor, with no rooms on the ground floor, and parking is very limited. Having a window feels like a luxury.
