Ganang Village Rest House

This is cheap, one-star budget accommodation, really for backpackers. A studio is okay for one night, and maybe families with kids for 1-2 nights. No towels, no hot shower water, and no TV. You get what you pay for. For 20 riggets more, westerners can find something better.

It’s inexpensive and clean, with filtered water, a kettle, and a nice shared area. The Guest House is very close to the airport, and a Grab ride costs only 4-9 MYR. Sleep was the downside. Our bunk bed squeaked loudly at even the slightest movement. The upstairs floorboards were thin, and people went to bed late and got up early, so it wasn’t a great night’s rest. Nice place, but noisy.

I’m living here now and rent a two-room house with one bathroom and a small kitchen area for about RM600 a month. The owner accepts cash or online banking. There’s parking, and there’s also a rest house with standard prices. A food stall called Nasi Katok sells really delicious, cheap food from RM5. The location is easy for requesting Grab, My Car, or Food Panda. I don’t have photos on my phone, but I’m sure you can search for the place on Google. I’ll update with photos later.
