You feel safe here, and the location is amazing. For the price, it’s a gem in KK. The room was clean with no carpets, the bed and fluffy pillows were comfy, and the towels were clean but thin. The bathroom was clean too, though some grout needs scrubbing. Service wasn’t quite top-notch, but a little patience goes a long way. If you want to save a few bucks and still stay somewhere comfortable and secure in a great spot, consider this place.

I moved to a slightly pricier hotel later and honestly wish I’d stayed here the whole time. It may be an older hotel, but it has charm and is great value.

I hope the hotel boss has to go to the toilet and finds no toilet paper. What’s so special about your hotel toilet? Even a 5-star hotel doesn’t have rules saying you can’t use the hotel toilet?

The location is decent, but there were little bugs in my room and a strange smell from the bathroom. Breakfast was okay at best.

The staff were kind and always greeted me with bright smiles. The bed was just right, the room had a good view, and the water was clean with strong pressure, so I didn’t need a filter. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was great too. Shopping malls, the night market, famous restaurants, and Jesselton Pier are all within walking distance. I’m glad I found the perfect hotel, and I’ll stay at Gaya Centre Hotel if I visit Kota Kinabalu again.
