Lintas View Hotel

Our checkout was meant to be at 12:00 pm. We went for breakfast and got back at 11:20 am, but our access card had stopped working and we couldn't get into the room. The receptionist said access is blocked 30 minutes before checkout, though it wasn't even 11:30 yet. I've never come across that policy at another hotel. There was no apology or real explanation, just a dismissive “hmm,” and he seemed completely indifferent. The front desk staff came across sour-faced and unhelpful, as if we were bothering them despite being paying guests. I can't recommend this hotel, especially if you expect basic professionalism.

This was the worst hotel I've stayed in. It was dirty and outdated, and once inside, the whole place felt sealed off with no sunlight at all. I even wondered if it was haunted. The facilities were terrible. For the same price, I could find a much better hotel.

The location is great, and I've stayed at Lintas View whenever I've visited Kota Kinabalu over the past 10 years. But some rooms have no windows, are very dim, and smell musty. I always booked a room with a window, though even those bathrooms have no doors, so shower water splashes out. The male receptionists have been there, I think, for at least the past 10 years. They always seem cold and unwelcoming, never smile, and give short, curt answers. There's one male staff member who's better, but the other male receptionists have a very poor attitude. On my last stay, in March this year, a stone-faced receptionist put me in a room where the air-conditioner blew hot air instead of cold, so I had to ask for another room. After all these years, the rooms still look old and dated, with no renovation, while the prices aren't cheap. Location is the only good thing. Everything else needs improvement.

Manager R did an impressive job organizing the hall, meals, and room arrangements for our recent stay and four-day event at Lintas View Hotel. We were very happy with the team's service, and staff Mohd was especially attentive. We're grateful for the hospitality and look forward to supporting the hotel again. We'll certainly recommend it to others. Breakfast wasn't included, but there was lots of good, yummy food around, and we were happy with the nearby options too.
