Marina Travellers Suite at Riverson Soho

The place is right next to Imago shopping mall, which was the one bright spot. The listing looked lovely, but the apartment itself was old, with dirty walls, and the price didn't feel justified. The sink kept clogging, the wifi didn't work, and the owner never replied. There was a kitchenette, but the stove couldn't be used and the microwave was broken. Nothing was provided. I should've read the comments before booking. I'd stay away.

I was worried about using anything in the homestay in case I got blamed for damage. The bin was full when I arrived, appliances were broken, the sink was blocked, there was no bidet, and the bedsheet was torn. Customer service was poor too, and I didn't get proper help. One star for this place.

The service was attentive, and the price was good, but I left unsatisfied. Planes flew over about every 15 minutes, and the noise was hard to ignore. Inside, the floor felt sticky and the cleaning product smell was so foul I kept the window open all day. The sofa needs a deep clean because it smelled, and the worn wood flooring had me wearing slippers around the house. The furniture was worn and dirty, the bedsheets were too thin, and there were no toiletries. It could be a five-star homestay, but the cleanliness isn't up to standard. Not my best stay.

The bed was comfortable, there was plenty of space and an extra single mattress, and the staff replied quickly. The place is near Imago mall and the hospital, with restaurants, shops, ATMs, and a 24-hour convenience store around. But it's very old and needs renovation. The microwave didn't work, and there were no toiletries, cooking pan or pot, dishwasher, or sponge. They brought a pan on the second day. No technician came to fix the issues, and parking costs extra. If you only need a good night's sleep and don't mind the dated look, it may suit you. Riverson soho is under an airplane route, so expect noise.
