Sabah Golf & Country Club

The golf course is nice, and the washroom was clean, but I left disappointed compared with my visit a year ago. The new cash card has made each activity complicated. The computers are often down, and settling transactions takes too long, including buying driving range balls and paying for club catering. Service was disappointing too, from reception to the club canteen. Orders were repeatedly wrong or slow, and staff took other calls while helping people at reception. It felt unprofessional and put me off coming back. I hope management improves things so visits can leave good memories.

Lunch and golf were good here. We sat outside overlooking the course and swimming pool, with nice music playing. The food was delicious, especially the western options, seafood fried noodles, and chicken wings. Beer was cheap, and the staff were very friendly.

The club grounds are pleasant and most facilities seem well maintained, but the driving range keeps running out of balls. This has happened several times. Most recently, staff said there were none because the buggy used to collect them had a flat battery. At a club of SGCC’s standard, members should be able to count on basic practice facilities being available. Equipment needs proper management and regular maintenance. I hope the club sorts this out soon so members can use the range reliably.

Whenever I visit my aunt in KK, who's a member here, I usually come along. I'm not a golfer, but it's a nice place to chill, have a beer or two, and enjoy the view. My aunt calls it her second home, hahaha. After eating, you can sing a song or two at their "smoke free" kaeaoke. Love it.
