The Klagan Hotel

The room was roomy enough for one or two people, and I stayed three nights. Street noise came through from outside, though not every night. The bathroom was decent, with a counter big enough for all my toiletries, which matters when you travel a lot. The bed was soft, the sheets were clean, and the AC got pretty cold. The TV worked well and even had Netflix.

We had a clean, spacious Family Room with a Smart TV for the kids, and I especially appreciated the inclusive, accessible bathroom design. The location is hard to beat, just across from Center Point and a nine-minute walk to seafood at Anjung Senja. Staff were excellent: they replied to emails within two hours and helped arrange a delivery that arrived after checkout. Breakfast was okay, but could use more variety if you stay for a while. It was a great experience, and I’ll definitely return.

The people were nice and the hotel was pleasant, with decent breakfasts. My room felt awkward to use, though, and the building layout struck me as strange: the windows face the corridors inside instead of outdoors.

I come back here whenever work brings me to KK. Rooms are spacious and clean, and this time mine looked out over the city with a partial sea view. There’s a standard buffet breakfast, plus a sea-facing cafe. The location is handy too, about 200 metres from the Philippines market and local food court area. One unusual touch: along the room corridors they play national patriotic songs instead of regular jazz. They’re not too loud, and it’s nice. If there were an award for the most patriotic hotel, this place would surely win.
