The Seraya Hotel

I stayed one night. The room was clean, comfortable, and smelled fresh, and the toilet was well maintained. There’s a lift, so carrying lots of luggage is fine. It suits light travellers getting around by Grab or taxi, though parking can be a challenge if you drive. They provide toiletries like toothbrushes and plenty of instant coffee. Shops and restaurants are close enough to walk to.

There are lots of eateries, a pharmacy, convenience store, Suria Mall, and Jesselton mall nearby, so the location works well if you stay here. There’s also a filtered water dispenser in the ground floor lobby beside reception. The rooms are small, if that’s okay with you. I’ve checked in here three times already.

Good value for the money, with friendly staff and a good room. The location is the best part, right by Jalan Gaya night and day market.

It’s clean, and you can walk to everything you need for dining, so I’d confidently give the place five stars. The room lighting is my one concern. When you first enter, it’s dark because the key holder that turns on the room power is beside the fridge, making the lights hard to find right away.
