I wouldn’t come back with my family. The building is about 20 years old, so don’t expect too much. My Airbnb had been refurbished, but there were electrical trips. Maybe it was overuse, but I think the whole house needs new wiring. The location is easy to find, between the Kuwait Embassy and Indonesia Embassy. Hadramaut, an Arab restaurant, and a Japanese restaurant are behind the apartment and within walking distance. Prince Court Hospital is across the road. TRX is nearby by car, but not really walkable. There’s a basic pool, gym, and laundry on Level 6. The pool isn’t very appealing for kids. Parking was easy to find and free for my Airbnb on levels 1-5, though driving around was tricky. The surroundings felt gloomy during the day and even scarier at night. The walk to the apartment was gloomy too, with very few lamps. The lift had a heavy metal odor. I think most residents are expatriates. There’s a Mynews on the ground floor, but it’s not interesting.
Getting around this building as a visitor was a hassle, especially with a car. Visitors have to use the paid basement parking, and I never knew how they worked out the charges because the rate seemed different each time. The lift doesn’t connect to that parking area, so after parking you have to take the stairs back up to the lobby. That’s really inconvenient when you’re carrying things. If you’re an Airbnb guest, I’d avoid bringing a car. The place is old and soulless, with a strange smell and outdated facilities. The lift takes ages, and sometimes it doesn’t work at all. One guard was extremely rude and acted as if he owned the place. When I challenged him and asked his name, he wouldn’t tell me and then started avoiding me. They need to improve the hospitality. It’s an old building, not a 5-star hotel, and I totally wouldn’t recommend it.
A quiet, really nice service apartment, close to shopping and public transportation.
‼️NOT SAFE FOR TOURIST, avoid 231TR. We spent two weeks here and repeatedly felt uneasy. The lobby smelled like formalin, and the building felt lifeless and old, nothing like the photos, which seemed like total clickbait. Check-in was confusing, like a maze with no hallway, and the lift crawled along with loud metal banging between floors. The security presence felt invasive. Guards stared at us and asked personal questions, which made us uncomfortable. At one point, a distressed woman was screaming for help near the back parking entrance as a military officer and a guard approached her. There were CCTV signs all over the condo saying the cameras were “to record crime purposes,” but we still felt completely unsafe. Another time, a flustered man without a key card pretended to be on a call, even though there was no signal. He seemed to follow us off the lift, then disappeared into the fire exit. This place didn’t feel tourist-friendly or peaceful, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a safe stay in KL.
We had a nice stay. The property management was cooperative and understanding, and there are lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The apartment has a great view. There were a few small problems: elevator repairs, an air fryer that wouldn’t heat, and noisy faucets. Management did their best and replaced the faucet within two days.
