BackHome Kuala Lumpur Hostel

The staff are helpful and funny, and know so much about town that they're like concierges. Bathrooms are really nice and always clean, and I never had to wait for a shower. The rooms were nice, too. The metro is five minutes away, with places of interest also walkable. Breakfast isn't great, but you can pay ten times this price for a room with buffet breakfast if that's what you want. Maybe ask for an upstairs room because backpackers can be really loud and annoying. This is simply the best hostel I've ever stayed in, a real four-star hostel!

I've stayed here twice and would gladly come back. It's conveniently located, reasonably priced, and the simple breakfast is good enough. The facilities are basic and cover what you need. Staff are friendly and helpful, reply to emails quickly, and give clear instructions. The rooms were clean and tidy, with air conditioning. Despite the busy street, the double windows block a lot of the noise.

Viola made a point of using both our names from the start, even though they're rather difficult, and kept addressing us that way throughout. The hostel is beautifully decorated, thoughtfully laid out, spotless, and warmly hosted. Breakfast is simple each day, with a delicious traditional Malay special every Thursday, and you can go back for seconds. Coffee, tea, and filtered water are complimentary all day. Our private double was small but comfortable, with a great bed, AC, a sink, and earplugs in case the courtyard outside got noisy. Great location near public transport, and Grab makes getting around easy and cheap. Highly recommend for solo travelers, couples, and families.

There was a warm, friendly welcome from the staff, including tea when I arrived. Viola was always smiling and lovely to everyone during my stay. The hostel's well placed for tourist attractions and local experiences, and the team organizes plenty of activities and shares useful tips to help make a trip go well. Rooms are spacious, well equipped, and clean. I spent quite a bit of time studying, and there was plenty of quiet space, along with chill-out areas and a really cool cinema room. One of the best hostels I've stayed in.
