For the price I paid, it was really good. It's also very close to kl city center and Ampang train station. I booked through air bnb with Alice, who was kind and helpful.

There were a few serious problems in the room: a strong cigarette smell despite it being non-smoking, no hot water because the water heater didn't work, wobbly table and chairs, a noisy faulty desk lamp I had to switch off, and very dim bathroom lighting. Check-in at the front desk was extremely slow and needs improvement, though the staff were polite and courteous. Be aware that a RM200 cash deposit is required at check-in. Holiday Place Kuala Lumpur is bearable if you're on a budget, but it was quite a disappointing stay and not ideal overall.

The location was good, but that's where the positives stop. This was my first and last experience dealing with the room conditions. I share the concerns in other 1-star reviews. The staff seem fully aware of the infestation, yet appear to have little concern about properly addressing it. It's baffling that OTAs let hotels run this way on their platforms and then describe this hotel as "very good," which is very inaccurate.

During my one-night stay, cockroaches were everywhere in the room. I asked to change rooms but wasn't given one, and I couldn't sleep because I was so uncomfortable and worried. It was a very unpleasant, disappointing stay. I hope management takes the problem seriously and improves the rooms' hygiene and condition. This isn't what guests expect from a hotel.
