Ideal Suites at Times Square

Affordable and simple, with the usual room amenities. The design feels old-fashioned, like something from the early 90s. The corridor smelled strongly of cigarettes, maybe because the carpets weren't deep-cleaned.

The only decent thing about this place is the location. Everything feels run down and not maintained. Our first room was filthy and the door wouldn't close. We moved to a second room, which had all the issues below. The TV had sound but the picture was blurry, as in picture 7. Bathroom tiles were coming loose from the floor, enough that a guest could trip or cut themselves, as shown in pictures 1 and 6. The sofa and carpet had stains in pictures 3 and 4, the microwave door was broken with edges that could cut your hands, as in picture 2, and the walls had brown stains that might have been food or something else. A very, very disappointing stay. The rooms are filthy, old, and full of broken things. I wouldn't recommend this place even to my worst enemy.

DO NOT STAY HERE. You have to call a number to check in because there's no desk, then wait for someone to come meet you. We waited almost an hour. The east tower is privately owned apartments, while the photos you see are from the west tower hotel. Our room had a great view but was in awful shape. Doors were missing or hanging off their hinges, there was a large hole in the floor hidden under the chairs, and we only had hot water on one of our three days. The vinyl chairs were all cracked, and there were no toiletries or coffee-making facilities. It was horrible. Do yourself a favour and book somewhere else.

I booked four days ahead, then on the day they cancelled because of room issues. I'd already paid through Agoda, and the site said there was no refund if I cancelled. Around mid September 2024, about three to five families had the same problem: they'd paid, but the hotel said it was full or there was a room problem, and promised a refund. It's been almost two months with no answer. There is no receptionist, only an agent, so we can't contact the property directly. We can only deal with Agoda's online customer service. I've called Agoda twice and filed a report, but they can't contact the property.
