Kl Better apartment @ timesquare

We left after two nights and cancelled the rest of our stay. The apartment was crawling with cockroaches, the bathroom smelled strongly of urine, and the surfaces were visibly dirty, stained, or broken. At check-in, a man took us to a room much smaller than the one we had booked and paid for. After we asked, we were moved the next day to one closer in size to what we’d booked, but it still didn’t match the photos. We’ve been travelling around Southeast Asia for three months and this was easily our worst stay.

We only discovered the problem when we reached the lobby to check in: although our reservation had been confirmed a month earlier, the manager said the hotel was full. We were left scrambling to book somewhere else at the last minute during a holiday peak period. They claimed our booking had been cancelled, but we got no notification and Agoda still showed it as confirmed. It felt like an overbooking scheme to push customers toward a more expensive rate. Then the manager showed us a room that looked like a prison and wanted 600 RINGGIT for one night. What a nightmare. It’s unbelievable this place is still on Agoda. As a tourist, this left me with a very bad impression of KL. Definitely the worst booking experience I’ve had.

The building’s location was the only real plus, so we spent as much time as possible in shopping malls instead of the room. We were there for just one night, and the lumpy, creaking bed still left us itchy. I had a good scrub as soon as I got home. A lesson in being wary of deals that seem too good to be true. The serviced apartment block has units run by different owners and the whole place looked seedy. There’s no lobby reception. After we arrived, nobody came to take us up for ten minutes; security told us to call again, and the man who answered shouted at me to wait. In the room, the stained sheets, grimy carpet, loose bathroom tiles, tacky faux leather sofa, and cockroaches everywhere made it feel like a drug den. The door had no chain lock, so we kept our bags zipped in case bugs got into them.

RM300++ a night for this place is nowhere near worth it, not even RM50. The apartment felt like it was stuck in the 80s or 90s. My room had no Wi-Fi password, the toilet and floor were filthy, and the floor was really oily. The towel was wet even though it hadn’t been used, and there was no phone to reach the service.
