The parking situation was a problem from the start: the unit had no parking, so I had to pay another RM300 a month, and the bay could flood when it rained. One of the lifts often broke down too. I also found out the electricity was billed at commercial rates, making it about twice as high as residential. When I asked the owner to change it, they told me I had to arrange it myself and pay RM1,800. The rent also went up by RM300 a year. During the tenancy, we discovered that a janitor employed by management, who we understood had no work visa, stole our belongings, including an iPad, an electric drill and one of my wife's dresses. At the end-of-tenancy handover, the owner complained about small details and said I had to pay to repaint all the walls. She pointed to peeling ceiling paint, even though I hadn't peeled it off; she seemed to expect the unit to look exactly as it did when I moved in two years earlier, without understanding wear and tear. I was told my deposit would only be returned next year because she was busy. I uploaded videos of the unit at the end of the tenancy so people can judge its condition and the deductions for themselves. There were far more problems than benefits. I just ended my tenancy, and I definitely won't rent C-23A-01 again.
I stayed five nights and am rating the building facilities, not the host I rented from, since judging the building by a different host wouldn't be fair. The facilities themselves weren't bad, but each unit has just one parking spot and there isn't any visitor parking. On my final day, my conference in the next building ran until 5 pm. The host wanted my car out by 1 pm and told me to use the paid mall car park. I checked with building management, but they had no guest parking where I could leave it for those few extra hours. A regular hotel wouldn't have put me in that situation.
The good points are the large, convenient parking area and the big pool, though the pool stayed closed for years once Covid hit, so I never got to use it. Having a mall downstairs and the MRT opposite is handy too. Still, the rent doesn't feel worth what you have to put up with. Moving was a nightmare. The loading bay is on the lower ground floor and only vehicles under 2.1 metres can enter. A lorry has to stop by the roadside, then furniture has to be pushed up the very steep car ramp. I had a piano to move through there. Moving in and out took more effort than three hours at the gym, with a risk of damaging the furniture. The head of management was rude and unhelpful. How can there be no proper loading bay? The water was filthy from when I moved in until I left. My portable filter turned dark chocolate brown in a week and needed changing every week. Management said it was a government problem; the owner told me to call management. Will residents trust either of them? There are three mosques nearby, which is fine, but the building doesn't block sound at all. At night I heard the MRT, highway traffic, motorcycles and ambulances. In the morning, the three mosques could sound like an orchestra before my alarm went off. You also need to be home when parcels arrive or reschedule delivery. Security won't collect them, which I don't blame them for, but won't let the sender leave them anywhere, even on a bench.
Shoes went missing from outside my apartment, then a parcel and a food delivery were stolen too. They wouldn't check the cameras unless I went to the police station. I never got any of it back, and nobody was helpful. I'm just waiting for my contract to end. For the price I pay, I won't renew this service.
You can only get in from Jalan Pantai Baharu. If you can't enter there, it's a 20-minute detour, and Mid alley is only about 15 minutes away, so I'd just go there. The back entrance from Lorong Kerinchi 1 is barricaded, leaving Jalan Pantai Baharu as the only way in.
