Orange Hotel Kuchai Lama @ Kuala Lumpur

A friend of mine stayed here, and when I picked him up to get food, he told me the service was poor, the bathroom leaked, and the room was in bad condition. It’s cheap, though, and the location is good for food and other things if you’re willing to put up with the condition.

I’ve never had worse front desk service. The staff member was rude and unprofessional, and made guests feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. That kind of behavior could scare people off from staying here. I’m shocked someone with so little professionalism is working at the front desk.

The mattress and pillows were below average, and we had cigarette smells in both rooms we were assigned. The first room was full of smoke, so they moved us, but the next one smelled the same. Both rooms were near reception, so it seems hard for the hotel not to notice, but there didn’t seem to be much control. Honestly, I felt cheated by the Google and Booking.com reviews. First and last time.

It’s a basic room, nothing special, but that’s what I expected for the price. This is a nice budget hotel in a convenient area, with plenty of parking, food options, and even a Starbucks. I’m satisfied and often choose it when we’re in KL.
