Sim Hotel Bukit Bintang Kuala Lumpur

I spent a week here in May 2026. The area felt safe, with a 7/11 just a two-minute walk away. Chinatown and Times Square building are nearby, and Bukit Bintang is about a 15-minute walk. The rooms were clean, but the bathrooms always smelled of cigarettes, which I hated. On the first few mornings, something was being evacuated in the next building around 6 AM, and it was incredibly noisy and irritating.

The service was great and the location worked well for me, so the stay was generally good. My room felt cramped because it was quite small. At breakfast, the juice glasses had a Carlsberg label. It may seem minor, but in Malaysia, where many guests are locals, including Muslims, that could come across as insensitive. I think the hotel should be more mindful of its diverse guests and cultural sensitivities.

The price was good, but I had to switch rooms because of a strong cigarette smell. The walls are thin enough that I could hear pretty much everything my neighbors were saying.

The hotel is near transport and a shopping mall, but I didn’t like the room at all. It was dirty, the floors felt oily, and there were very few amenities. I was in an upgraded room, but I’m assuming the sheets hadn’t been changed. Gross. I wouldn’t return.
