The staff were pleasant and very helpful, and also honest. They found a lost purse and returned everything before we even realised it was missing. The room had basic comforts for resting, and the toilet and shower worked well with plenty of hot water. There was a leak in my bathroom, but it didn’t spoil the stay. It’s a cozy spot in a busy but peaceful neighborhood surrounded by the big city. Explore the area for a taste of a harmonious community without pretensions.

A budget-friendly choice for a short stay if you want to save money. The rooms are basic, but the bed is soft and comfortable enough for a decent night’s sleep. My main complaints were the old, discolored towels and the noise from people going in and out of their rooms at all hours. It’s affordable, just don’t expect more than the basics.

At Redstone Boutique Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, we booked from Penang based on the online photos, but our room didn’t look exactly like the listing and fell short of what we expected. On our first day we found a cockroach, then two more the next day. We were too tired to complain on the first night. When we reported it, staff said we should have told them earlier. We asked to move rooms, but were told the hotel was full. They offered pesticide treatment, which we had to refuse because of our child’s allergies. We were left in the same room with cockroaches, which was extremely uncomfortable with two kids. Basic cleanliness matters even in a non-luxury hotel. Staff were polite, but there was no proper fix or compensation. Very disappointing, wouldn’t recommend.

The main drawback is that there’s no lift, and the hotel is on the first floor, which is a problem with heavy luggage. Otherwise, we had a decent room with the twin towers visible from the window, and the location is excellent. Kampung baru food lane has all kinds of seafood at decent, cheap prices. Host safina was very sweet and let us leave our luggage for a few hours after check-out. It’s just 500m from LRT mono rail kampung baru. Anyone who wants details can reply here.
