Season Point Hotel

The location is great, and the rooftop chill-out area is a nice extra. The staff were friendly and helpful, and tried to move me when my non-smoking room smelled strongly of smoke, but the other rooms were much the same. Cleanliness was generally good, though my bathroom had dark stains that wouldn’t wash off. Good value for the price if you’re not too fussy.

The staff were friendly, and that was about the only good part. Don’t let the hotel’s appearance fool you, the room cleanliness and amenities were horrible. The curtain was gross, as if it had never been washed, and the pillowcase looked yellow and long unwashed. The floor hadn’t been swept or mopped before check-in. There was no shampoo or hairdryer in the room, and the towel they brought after I asked had hair strands in it. Absolutely disgusting. Look elsewhere, there are better deals.

The location is good and the staff are nice, but that’s about it. Towels smell, so bring your own, and they don’t change the sheets. The beds are old and the springs aren’t comfortable. Smoke from other people gets into the rooms and leaves them smelling like an ashtray. If you’re on a budget and don’t expect much, it may be okay, but for somewhere clean and comfortable I’d look elsewhere.

The location is good and the staff are nice, but the rooms were generally dirty, noisy and in poor condition. We booked three rooms. My brother-in-law’s bedding was dirty and the room smelled of smoke; after he asked to move, the second room was okay. My friends’ room was a little dirty too, and they could hear everything from the neighbours. My first room was a Superior Double with a window, much smaller than the pictures suggested. Its thin street-facing windows let in the sound of cars and everything else outside, even when closed. The bed was uncomfortable and the room wasn’t completely clean. I asked to change rooms. The next one had a smaller window away from the street and was quieter, but the window was broken when I opened the curtains. It looked better, so we took it. Then a man at reception, I think the manager, offered us a free upgrade to a much bigger, nicer room without a window and with a comfortable bed, which we appreciated. Even there, though, doors closing in the hall and showers in the next room were really noisy. I don’t understand how this hotel has such good reviews.
