The room itself was very nice, and the night receptionist was friendly. You can hear people coming and going through the walls, though it wasn’t a big problem for us. The checkout was another matter. They checked the room before returning our RM50 deposit, as required, then told us there was a stain on a towel. The receptionist showed us a photo and thought it was blood, but I explained it was my lipstick, the same shade I was wearing. He accepted that it was makeup, yet said they would keep RM35 because of the stain. I argued that lipstick can be washed off, so it shouldn’t count as damage. He replied, “We know which stains can or can't be washed.” I felt we were being charged unfairly. If it had been blood, I could understand the concern, but this was lipstick and he had acknowledged that. I believe soaking and scrubbing it in warm water would remove it. Really disappointed by the service just before checkout.

The room was clean and big enough for one person, with a desk and chair, small fridge, aircon and ceiling fan. The staff were friendly, though my room wasn’t ready when I arrived at 3pm, the check-in time. There were a few tables outside the room and a little kitchenette at the end of the hall. Laundry was free if you bought their detergent for 2rm. The shower had a heater, but even at its highest setting the water was barely warm, and the wi-fi wasn’t very good. Fine for a few nights of rest.

I only noticed the bedding the next morning, after arriving late and going straight to sleep. There were visible stains that looked like bodily fluids and urine. That was disgusting and completely unhygienic. I told reception as soon as I found them, but staff said I should have reported it at check-in. That’s unreasonable. Guests shouldn’t have to inspect bedding for sanitation before they can trust it’s clean. The bed points to a serious housekeeping failure, and the dismissive response made things worse. I expect a clear explanation and proper corrective action. This level of negligence is unacceptable for any accommodation.

What stood out most was how kind and welcoming the Manager, Owner and staff were. The place is fragrant, new and well kept, and when I found my room dusty on arrival, the housekeeper and manager sorted it out. The location is great too, with a night market downstairs and thrift shops selling shoes and clothes behind the building. For the price, I’d come back. A few things to know: the hall gets loud with people on the phone or playing music, and doors bang constantly, so bring earbuds. Bring your own shampoo and soap if you don’t want to use the 3in1. Tissue isn’t replenished every day. For laundry, bring liquid detergent or buy it at reception.
