The Yard Boutique Hotel

The room was nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable, but all night on both nights I heard a constant churning machine noise, as if the room was right below a water pump. They were fully booked, so the helpful, prompt staff couldn't move me. I was in KL for a short business trip, and the location put me right in the center of the city. It was very convenient to get around, with taxis easy to flag down and Uber or Grab available.

The location is great, but our room was small and poorly kept. The floor was dirty when we checked in, and hair hadn't been cleaned from the toilet. Expect mosquitoes in the room too. The toilet ventilation fan was noisy and came on with the air conditioning, so it ran all night.

A bit dark and sometimes noisy, but pretty good for the price. The amenities are very basic, though the place was clean. The shower had hot water and good pressure, and the A/C worked well. The hotel is in a great spot, close to lots of stalls and the Jlan Alor market.

Jalan alor, the street food passage, is right next door, which is great. We paid about 130€ for 3 days, not cheap but OK. It's a good backpacker hotel, clean but basic, with nothing fancy or luxurious. We had our own bathroom with a large shower and toilet, plus a good-sized bed, but there wasn't much other space. The floors were concrete and the lighting was bad.
