The staff were very nice, helpful, and informative, and the reception room was pleasant. Cleanliness was just okay, neither bad nor good. Breakfast is free but there isn’t much choice, mainly bread and crunchy things to chew on. Coffee and tea are also free in the lobby. The room felt tight, with a window view of a street food market that wasn’t very attractive. For a 3-star hotel, the amenities were lacking: no toothpaste, shower cap, or razor, just one pair of flip flops and two hangers. There were only two sockets in a fairly big room. Room cleaning starts after 3pm, which is late. Wi-fi on the second floor was very slow and unstable. The 5G in the lobby was stronger but occasionally went down while I was there. I was only staying briefly, so I didn’t buy a SIM card.

SS Grey Hotel is good value for money and seems especially suited to solo travelers. It’s a five-minute walk from Jalan Alor Food Street, around 10 minutes from Bukit Bintang Monorail Station and McDonald's, and about 15 minutes on foot to Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. The front desk staff are very friendly. If you arrive before check-in, there’s a waiting area where you can relax and get coffee, tea, or Milo for RM2, with free air conditioning and Wi-Fi.

This is a really low-budget hotel, and its main plus is the location, close to lots of places to eat and malls. The rooms are small, some feel suffocating, and the carpet has a funky smell. Some doors also don’t lock properly. I’d only recommend it for a short stay if you’re on a tight budget.

The room was clean, the aircon worked well, and the receptionist and staff were friendly and helpful. I give this hotel five stars for everything. I used to book other hotels near SS Grey, but they were more expensive and I had too much trouble with WiFi and aircon that didn’t work properly. I love this place and want to book it again whenever I go to Bukit Bintang ❤️

The room was standard, but the TV kept lagging, and I wasn’t sure if there were any movies. The service was nice. When I asked where to go, they told me. Bukit Bintang is too jammed, so I’d give it four stars overall.
