It’s central-ish, but traffic around the area is really bad, and Grabs can be slow to arrive. The location also means it stays loud late into the night, which made sleeping difficult. I’d choose somewhere else if possible. The rooms are usable but bare bones. The washroom could have been cleaned better, the shower has no full door so water sprays out, and it never got hot. The rooms are poorly insulated too, so they heat up during the day even with the AC running. The carpets look filthy and make the place feel cheap and disgusting. Service was horrid. There’s no phone service, only an online chat agent. They wouldn’t bring water to the room. When I asked, the agent said housekeeping was closed and ordered water through room service for me, but when it arrived I was told there was a charge. Nobody had mentioned that when the order was placed.

The room design was comfortable, and I had a beautiful tower view. The toilet has a built-in bidet, and the shower can be adjusted, which was a plus. Staff were friendly and informative, and the hotel is very close to the main night market. The restaurant feels too small for such a big hotel, and some waiters couldn’t speak English or Malay. During my stay there seemed to be room renovation work on some mornings, and the drilling could be heard in my room and was really annoying. The crowd out on the road, though, couldn’t be heard. The soundproofing handles that well, just not the drilling.

The hotel and room were great overall, and the location is very central. Most services were good, but the pool and gym access were heavily affected by renovations. The pool closed at 7 pm and also shut whenever there was even a little rain. Across three days, we only got to enjoy it for about 15 minutes.

The place is clean and new, the price is reasonable, and it’s convenient to get around the area. Some of the staff could use hospitality training, though. We needed our room key card revalidated and dealt with Quan at the front desk. He took our cards and handled it without greeting us or saying anything. His fringe kept falling over his eyes and he repeatedly fixed his hair. While we waited for transport, we also saw facial expressions toward some guests that seemed appalling, though perhaps he wasn’t aware of them. That’s our observation, and not all the hotel staff behaved that way.
