Submarine Guest House @ Chinatown - Hostel

Check-in and check-out were easy, and the staff were helpful. We liked the location, especially having a 7-11 right downstairs. The terrace was the best part for me, with free water and coffee to enjoy alongside the lovely view. Our room was clean and comfortable, though some upkeep would help, like new paint, repairing the peeling wallpaper, and updating the shower heads. Earplugs were provided, but we found the noise level fine. I also liked the shared areas. The decor is eclectic and busy, but it creates a nice feel. I'd put it at 4.5 stars if I could; since I can't, I gave it 5 because we were really satisfied.

I spent one night here before an early flight and was able to check in early without any trouble. The place looked just like the pictures, with a comfortable bed and a small but functional bathroom. Friendly staff, a good location, a nice rooftop, and plenty of free coffee, which I made good use of.

We needed to extend our Kuala Lumpur trip, so we quickly found this nearby hotel after first booking somewhere much more expensive. The price was low, the photos made it look a bit old, and we didn't expect much. We ended up wishing we'd stayed here from the start. The manager was helpful and friendly. Our room was simple but clean, with a comfortable bed and fresh, nice-smelling linen. We didn't have any noise problems, and although they gave us earplugs, we never needed them. The rooftop was especially good, spacious and cozy, with a nice view. Thanks, we'll stay here again if we're back in KL.

I really liked having the rooftop to relax on whenever I wanted. The self-service check-in and check-out were a first for me, and the boss was friendly and helpful. My room had AC and a ceiling fan, and the bathroom was clean. There's a 7-11 downstairs, the LRT pasar seni opposite, and petaling street next door. I'll definitely come back.
