TBS Rest & Go Transit Motel

I booked a three-hour walk-in stay and paid RM50 as a deposit, but the staff member wrote down RM30. When he changed shifts, the next staff member questioned the amount. That’s when I realized the night shift hadn’t given me a receipt. I asked the morning staff to call and confirm; he said it was a mistake and returned my deposit. I was tired after arriving around 4am and forgot to ask for a receipt. I’d only paid the room charge, about RM60 for three hours, by QR. Please make sure receipts are given for deposits. It’s illegal not to provide one, and I don’t think this was just a careless mistake. Check staff carefully too, in case someone is dishonest, since that kind of attitude and inefficiency could cost you money. The room was decent but small, so don’t expect much. I chose a room, not a capsule pod. I didn’t shower, just freshened up at the sink, then a staff member suddenly came in saying he wanted to clean the bathroom and asked me to use the shower quickly. I don’t think cleaning should happen after midnight, especially at 5am when people are trying to sleep. I hope the sheets and blanket were clean. The plugs worked.

We needed somewhere to stay before catching our 8:00AM bus, and for two people it was convenient enough for that. The room was clean, but the pillowcases looked used and smelled a little, so they really should have been changed. Everything is quite small and lousy. The showers were okay, but for number one and two you have to use the public toilets owned by TBS, about 15m away. They provided a towel and asked for a 50MYR deposit, and the guy who welcomed us was extremely friendly.

For just S$5 on Agoda for one night, I had no complaints. It was clean, with a towel and shower, and there’s luggage storage and a secure door lock. I’m 180cm and 140kg and could still lie down fully in the capsule. You can charge your phone there too. Of course it’s not comparable to a 4-5 star hotel, but it’s super convenient if you’re taking a coach the next morning.

I only needed a place to rest for about eight hours overnight, and it did the job, but I’ve stayed in pod hotels that were a lot better. The sheets were stained and stayed a bit warm until late at night. At check-in, the staff member spent about five minutes talking with someone before acknowledging me. The showers were locked in the morning, so I guess they’re only available at night. There are no toilets here, so you have to use the main bus station toilets, and there’s no WiFi.
