The property is beautiful and luxurious, and its facilities, comfort, and food deserve 5/5. We stayed for approximately 3 nights with family. Breakfast had a great range for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. A few service details fell short of the hotel’s high standard. At check-in, my husband asked for drinking water but was told none was available. It would have been nice if staff could arrange some through the restaurant. Housekeeping cleaned the room daily, but bathroom supplies weren’t always topped up. Once our toothbrush and toothpaste were opened, they weren’t replaced, and we had to call several times for fresh hand towels that should ideally have been changed during cleaning.

The room was a spacious Superior room with twin beds, and the bathroom was huge. It had all the items we needed. At the ground-floor restaurant, the food was good and breakfast offered plenty of choices, including local, Indian, and continental options. The pool was well maintained, and the gym beside it had a good set of equipment. Check-in was smooth, and we had our keys within 10 minutes. They collected 10RM per night as tourism tax. The hotel is around 1.5kms from KLCV, the heart of KL, and you can take a taxi or walk to KLCC. I had a comfortable stay during my visit to KL and would call it a good experience.

We had a great birthday staycation at Royale Chulan KL, and the birthday cake we requested with our King bedroom was absolutely wonderful. The room’s air conditioning couldn’t get very cold, even at its maximum setting, despite the heat outside. Conlay MRT station is a short walk away, so getting to Bukit Bintang and other places is easy. For basement parking, we accidentally went to B3, which was much too dark. Better to park at B1 or B2, and remember to validate your parking ticket at the counter before checkout.

I regret staying here and wouldn’t recommend the hotel unless it makes serious improvements. I expected a proper 5-star experience, but this felt no better than a low-budget hotel, and the poor upkeep is embarrassing for a place with a 5-star reputation. The room looked old, neglected, and far below what was promised, with no sign of proper upgrades or maintenance for a long time. The carpet was worn and dated, the TV was tilted and had very few channels, and the basic amenities were limited. The bathtub drained badly, its water control knob was loose, and the shower holder was unstable too. One of my worst hotel stays, and absolutely unacceptable for a so-called 5-star hotel.

A huge, clean, comfortable room with a bathtub and balcony, and I got a lovely pool view. Check-in was smooth and breakfast had plenty of variety. Parking costs rm5 per visit. It’s very close to pavillion, so you can walk or book for grab. Worth it and recommended, a 5/5 experience.
