The RuMa Hotel and Residences

We recently returned to The RuMA KL for the third time, this time to host an event for our top clients. The setup and menu for our important guests were arranged seamlessly, and I’m very grateful to Michel Bachmann, the property General Manager, and his Events Team. Michel had a hands-on role with our group arrivals and programme, and we felt well taken care of. We were warmly welcomed at check-in, too. The hotel’s design and comfort are unmatched: it draws on the textures, histories, and vernacular design language of the region, and really felt like a home away from home. Every detail seemed considered, from the calm colours to the natural materials underfoot. It’s within walking distance of the Petronas Towers and Bukit Bintang, yet the hotel feels removed from the city noise. I was also impressed by the morning breakfast at ATAS. You can choose a la carte or semi-buffet, with Malaysian, Asian, and international options. The focus is on quality and cooked-to-order dishes rather than overwhelming quantity. Our group had a great stay, and we look forward to coming back.

The staff are wonderfully attentive and friendly, while still discreet, and the breakfast was delicious, varied from day to day, and had plenty of options. The infinity pool and bar are tastefully finished, and the gym and changing rooms were immaculate. Thoughtful design makes the stay feel luxurious and very cool. You can walk to the action in Bukit Bintang or KLCC, but the hotel is less hectic, a good compromise for location. Definitely recommend this five-star hotel.

My friends and I loved the comfortable room and all the thoughtful details. Housekeeping were very polite, too, and made us feel at ease. We also had a wonderful Sunday brunch buffet at ATAS. The food was delicious, especially UNDER THE LIGHT – MIBRASA, the desserts, the salad counter, and the table-side cook-to-order service. Bell, Aqirah, Dewi & Luna, thank you for the warm hospitality and making the stay so memorable. The RuMa Hotel and Residences really did feel like home, just as its name, inspired by the Malay word “rumah”, suggests.

The pool felt like a tucked-away escape in the city, with a good view, and the small gym was sufficient. Breakfast was amazing, and parking was complimentary. Our spacious room had a roomy bathroom; the complimentary fridge drinks were appreciated, and the bathroom products smelled amazing. We got welcome drinks on arrival and everything went quickly and smoothly. The atmosphere, design, and comfort were lovely. Right in the heart of KL, yet it felt private and cosy. I’d come back.
