Universal Times Suites At Times Square

I really enjoyed my four-night stay. The room was spacious and CLEAN, and Mr and Mrs Lee were so kind and helpful. They even brought me an extra bottle of mineral water, and usually replied within minutes.

I planned to stay five nights and wound up staying five weeks. The apartment was clean, very spacious, quiet, and a little worn or “rustic.” After four months traveling through Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and Northern Malaysia, it was a great place to recharge in KL. Universal Times Square has nine apartments and is owned by Mr Lee and his wife, Low Sow Ping. The owners were super friendly, flexible, and accommodating. I recommend the apartments with veneer floors because they have no odor, unlike carpet. Mine was on a higher floor in the West Tower of Berjaya Times Square. Berjaya Times Square, completed in 2003, combines two towers, apartments, a hotel complex, shopping mall, swimming pool, bowling alley, theme park, Starbucks, other coffee shops, and restaurants under one roof. A metro station is attached, making it easy to get to the sights, the Airport, KL Central, Batu Caves, and “Colonial” Square. Pavilion mall, Lot 10 with its great restaurants, and JL Alor with more great restaurants are within a 10-minute walk. From Pavilion mall, an underpass walkway goes all the way to Twin Towers. LaLaport mall is also nearby, with a great grocery store and bakery that I visited almost daily. It’s a great location for sightseeing, living, resting, or working. There’s a pool and workout area on the 15th floor. Even with so much activity in Berjaya Times Square, the apartment was surprisingly private and quiet, which was a huge plus. You’re just one elevator ride from all the action. The views were breathtaking, especially at night. This isn’t a hotel, so you arrange check-in and check-out times with Mr Lee, who has an office in the building. There was light construction, some rehab work on older units, from 10am-5pm with a permit required. No drilling or hammering, and it didn’t bother me, though it’s worth knowing about. There’s a parking lot under the building, and weekly rates are available if you ask. A great spot for a few days or a few months.
