For ViPod residents, there are plenty of nearby shopping and entertainment choices. A bridge takes you to Pavillion KL in under a minute, and KLCC is also within a few minutes’ walk. I prefer Pavillion, partly because it’s a non-halal mall with lots of entertainment, dining, and drinking options, and it’s popular with expatriates. To me, KLCC feels more geared towards tourists than residents. Bukit Bintang, Jalan Alor, and Changkat Bukit Bintang aren’t far either. If you don’t feel like walking, take the monorail from Raja Chulan one stop to Bukit Bintang. ViPod Residence is on Jalan Kia Peng, on 1.09 acres, with 39 storeys and 418 units. It’s right by KL Conventional Center, which connects directly to KLCC. In terms of location, it feels like the center of the center and is one of the best in KL so far. I’d still rate Pavillion Residence as the best at the moment, strictly for location. The RM100 millions KL covered walkway and skybridge project should benefit residents in the KLCC area.

We were assigned a second-floor unit with little view, despite requesting a higher floor. We weren’t told in advance, so we couldn’t cancel, and when we arrived there was no higher-floor option because they were all full. The chair, washing machine, and bathtub were faulty. The unit was a bit dirty, though the host was excellent and cleaned it himself. The biggest disappointment was having no pool or gym access, which seemed to require extra payment. This suite feels unfriendly to visitors and didn’t seem suitable for us. You need a card to enter the hotel gate, which makes it a pain when visitors want to come and go, and they need an escort to the main gate in front of the hotel. Not recommended.

The location is very strategic, though facilities have to be paid for separately. Visitors pay RM20 for parking, but a cheaper option is across from the Vipod building, in the office building parking lot. When I helped my friend move, every lift was shut down, including the bomba lift. Before that happened, one or two passenger lifts had already been out of service for a long time.

The suites are very large and comfortable.
