Yu Hotel Chinatown

The mattress and pillows felt like five-star hotel quality. Everything was clean, quiet and comfortable, and the furniture was well kept. It's convenient too. I'd stay again and recommend it to friends.

We were here for six nights and would happily return. It's moderately priced, clean, quiet and accommodating. The location is handy, about five minutes on foot from Pasar Seni train station, half a minute from Petaling street, and near plenty of good food. We're light sleepers, so we asked for a quieter room and they kindly put us on the fifth floor, with no windows. The neighbors were quiet too, which helped, since sound does come through the doors from the elevator lobby. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the AC was quiet while keeping the room cool. There were no ants or mosquitos, and no bug spray smell. With two elevators for a five-floor building, we never waited long. Filtered water on the second floor tasted good, so we didn't need to buy water from 7-eleven. Staff were quick to respond on WhatsApp when the internet went out on the fifth floor. They said it would be back the next day, and it was. They also reached out to let us know it had been restored. There's no fridge in the room, but they kept some food for us in theirs when we needed it.

The hotel wouldn't refund the nights I didn't use and seemed to have no concern for guests. It felt like collecting money mattered more to them than customer satisfaction. The walls are thin, too, so you hear everything outside and it's hard to get proper rest. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

For a two-star no-frills hotel, it has what you need. The room was spacious and clean, the beds very comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water in the shower. It's well placed for Chinatown and for taking the train to KL Sentral or around KL. I was able to extend checkout for 20 Rm an hour, which was much appreciated with a late flight. There are lots of restaurants nearby, so some evening noise is possible. I'm fussy about noise when I'm trying to sleep, but it never got loud enough to disturb me. The hotel had thoughtfully left earplugs in the room in case it did.
